Math Games: Reviewed

Filed under: Teacher Resources — Tags: — admin @ 3:46 am

My first review will be for the math games that you can play at themathgames.com . This site is dedicated to topics close to my heart 1) math and 2) playing games!  I’ve run into many sites on the internet that have free online math games, but usually the games just aren’t fun. I definitely think that themathgames.com does well melding education and fun. Here are the best games (in my opinion) at the site

1) Fraction Balls : You must use your dexterity and your knowledge of fractions in fraction balls for instance, a game in which you must use your desterity to guide each ball into the jar that reprsents the fraction on the ball. See the picture on the side. The game even includes undefined fractions in which you must guide the ball into the jar labelled ‘undefined’. Very cool!

2) Decimals in Space: Another games that matches dexterity with math knowledge. Use your knowledge of decimal place value in order to shoot the correct rocks in this Asteroids tribute.
